AFC Policy Summit: Sheila's Success Story

The AFC National Policy Summit is an opportunity for the educational choice community to come together to celebrate the successes of school choice and its ability to change lives.

One of these successes was shared by Sheila Jackson whose daughter, Shawnee, was a recipient of the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program. Sheila knew that the public school Shawnee formerly attended was failing her. Shawnee struggled in math and was frustrated with school in general.

When Sheila heard about the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program, she knew this program would be the lifeline she needed to give Shawnee a quality education. Last year, Shawnee graduated as valedictorian of her class and is off to college.

Sheila continues to advocate for the D.C. OSP and all school choice programs because she saw how educational choice changed her daughter’s life.

Registration for the AFC Policy Summit is open! Join the #EdRevolution and help us in our efforts to break down the barriers to educational choice, which has helped so many.
