Last night, the American Federation for Children partnered
with the Indianapolis Urban League to host a workshop to give parents
information about the educational choice programs and options available in
their community. The event featured presenters from three Indianapolis area
schools as well as the Institute for Quality Education and GreatSchools.
Dozens of parents and children braved the weather and turned
out to the Concord/Eagle Creek Neighborhood Center, on the city’s west side, to
learn how to apply for programs and hear from participating schools including
the Avondale Meadows Academy, Flanner House Elementary School and The Oaks
Academy. School representatives discussed the enrollment process, curriculum
and provided parents with resources to assist with academic planning for their
children.
