Utah
strengthened its special needs voucher program by increasing funding, allowing
more children with special needs to access the program. Enacted in 2005, the Carson Smith Special
Needs Scholarship enables students identified as disabled and who have an
Individualized Education Program to access a scholarship to attend the private
school of their parents’ choice.

The
Beehive State is ready to accept more students with the increased funding of
more than half a million dollars annually.
